njIssues facing New Jersey Social Service Providers

Increased demands for core service

Suffering from job cut backs or lay-offs; more and more individuals are seeking various forms of treatment and putting a strain on social service providers. Community service providers may see an increase in homeless individuals and families and an increased need for job training programs or job referral services.

Residential programs may be forced to compensate for families that are no longer financially able to care for their disabled children.

How ISA can help

For non-profit insured clients, ISA sponsors membership to the Society for Nonprofit Organizations (SNPO). This is an organization dedicated to providing nonprofit staff members, volunteers, and board members with affordable resources and information to work more effectively and efficiently towards accomplishing their mission.

Expenses exceeding support & revenue

Due to funding issues throughout the US, many service providers are faced with decreasing state funding and grant availability. Facilities are also turning to the public in hopes of receiving individual donations. Many individuals have cut back on their own personal expenses, which has greatly affected the amount of donations if they are contributing at all. This lack of funding has challenged many facilities in balancing the increased daily and operational expenses with decreased revenue support.

Director's and Officers (D&O):  This coverage was created to protect nonprofit organizations and their board members against claims not covered under the organization's general liability policy. Employment Practices Liablity (EPLI):  This coverage protects against claims made by or on behalf of employees for a wrongful employment act, including allegations of wrongful termination or treatment, discrimination or harassment.

Can D&O be written on a mono-line basis?
YES. We can write D&O as a single policy or as a support for our package accounts. These policies also include Employment Practices Liability which protects against claims related to discrimination, wrongful termination, and sexual harassment.
